‘King Mackerel & The Blues Are Running’ Returns to Carteret County

The Coastal Cohorts are bringing their hit musical “King Mackerel  & The Blues Are Running” back to Carteret County to celebrate the show’s  30th Anniversary .  Cohorts Don Dixon, Bland Simpson, and Jim Wann will perform their popular show, featuring songs and stories of the Carolina Coast  April 17 & 18 at Carteret Community College’s Joslyn Hall. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the shows begin at 7:30 p.m. This concert benefits the North Carolina Coastal Federation and the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center.

Jim Wann, Bland Simpson and Don Dixon will be performing the beloved King Mackerel and the Blues are Running musical at Martha's Vineyard Playhouse on September 12-13, 2014. 

It’s the good old days on the Southern coast, but a hurricane has blown the roof off Miss Mattie Jewell’s 1920s-style Corncake Inlet Inn. The Coastal Cohorts musical trio comes to her rescue, singing and yarn-spinning to raise money and put the roof back to right, so Miss Mattie won’t have to sell out to the condo-minded Greedhead Development Corporation.
